The description instructions for cleaning do not match with the written cleaning instructions included with the rice cooker. Per the written instructions the bowl and etc need to be hand washed and dried. This is a surprise to me as the listing shows dishwasher friendly. Some parts are listed as being a type of aluminum and dishwashers damage aluminum.The written instructions do not have any listing describing how much product to water should be used.The listing states with reviews that rice can be kept warm for an extended amount of time while the instructions recommend an hour maximum.The led screen display is very dim and difficult to read. There is not a count down as to how much time remains on the cooking cycle.I set the rice cooker up to cook the maximum amount of rice and what a mess. It covered a large portion of my counter with a large quantity of a hot sticky mess. The liquid was extremely hot and I had to use cloths to soak it up. Luckily I found it before it ran onto the floor and became a fall hazard.The cooker when finished plays a short tone and then goes into warming mode counting how long it has been in the warming mode.I do have some concerns about aluminum being in close contact with food that I will be serving as I do not use aluminum for cooking.The rice was very good. Next time I will try using less rice and will update my review if it makes a mess again.

This is a wonderful little rice maker. It’s easy to set, easy to measure, and non-stick. It works like a charm and makes enough rice for a family of 4 with room to spare. The top insert is also removable so it’s super easy to clean. We learned the hard way that if you can’t remove that top insert, you’re in for a really annoying clean. I’d recommend this little machine for anyone who doesn’t want to spend a fortune. Absolutely worth the buy!

 I can’t make rice. I am the worst, but I can make it with my bear. This was my first time. It’s great! So easy. No crunchy rices. I cannot wait to make soup and a cake in my bear. It’s versatile. I’ll get a lot of use out of it. And I’m thinking i can get creative with it. Use coconut milk instead of water? While it’s cooking, I was working on other things. How easy is that? It’s pretty. Good size. Easy to use.

Ordered this because I was looking for a rice cooker for a family of 4. It was a nice medium/small size, small footprint, carry handle, fuzzy logic, with a brown rice setting. Ive been wanting to try out a cooker with fuzzy logic and figured since my old cooker kicked the bucket now is my chance. Kinda sad there was only one color
Cons : Teflon pot. Probably would not have ordered this if I knew it was Teflon, altho the newer nonstick isn't much healthier. Would like a stainless option but only a few rice cookers have stainless. I mixed this up with one that was "ceramic" coated. Oops. My bad.
No drip cup. This sounds more awful than it is. My instant pot Zest had a drip cup and still managed to drip starchy water all over the heating element. Bear has a wide moat around the pot liner that collects the moisture and is fairly easy to wipe out.
Dim LEDs or at least hard to read light up functions. I knew this going in and was not deterred. Once you get used to set up, you really don't need to read it, but it takes a bit of memory.
No steamer tray. Self explanatory.

Pros. The rice! I did basmati rice and it turned out noticeably better than my Zest! my Zest only died because the latch broke, and I never had a complaint about it (other than the forementioned starchy drip from the lid on the heating element) so it wasn't as if I'm a rice snob, I just didn't know rice could be better.
The removable cord. My kitchen is continually in a state of flux and it is nice to move appliances without a dangley bit of cord! I roll it up in a soft reusable sandwich bag and stuff it inside for storage.
Its cute! Its sweet rounded shape and soft color reminds me of a green tea mochi, or a squishmallow. I really want to put some wiggly eyes on it :)
Now, if anyone can find me a non metal steamer tray that fits this thing . . .

I got this rice cooker as it has a porridge function, and it cooks rice in 30 min, unlike the Zojirushi one I have that takes over an hour. It does cook the rice in 30 min as advertised, and the rice is nice and fluffy (from experience, I always add a bit more water above the line).

BUT the cooker has one major problem - the LED display. I have several issues with it:
1) the LED lights that display the settings are ridiculously small, and very very dim, making it almost impossible to read. I pretty much selected the White Rice function by looking at the instructions that showed it was the 2nd one, rather than reading it off the display.
2) While the rice is cooking, the display shows a flashing outline of a rectangle. There is no timer countdown that shows how long more before the rice will be done. I don't understand the point of a flashing rectangle outline when there is obviously room right there to display a timer! Only when it is reaching the last few minutes do you see numbers count down but that is NOT helpful when you are cooking and trying to time everything to when the rice will be done.

The cup that comes with the cooker is also poorly designed, in that the measurements are faint and hard to read.

I will likely not keep this cooker, because for the above issues. The Zojirushi may take a long time to cook the rice but it is so much better designed and easier to use.

I like the way it looks, it's a pretty mint green. It makes more than enough rice for my husband and I, plenty if we have company too. I like that I can cook just one cup of rice if I want (my old rice cooker only went as low as two cups of rice. It's a little hard to read the light up screen because of my eyesight. I manage though. The rice always turns out perfect, I made sticky rice last time for California rolls they were awesome.

Just made the most perfect rice of my life with this lil rice maker!!

I primed the maker first as suggested by the manufacturer so before first use, give the standard parts a good cleaning, then boil half the pot of water for half hour to steam off any "new appliance smell". used the provided cup and spatula only. put my 2 provided cups of rinsed bismati rice in first followed by water up to the "2" water line. no oil no salt. closed the lid, pressed menu twice for white rice, and away it went. a little over half an hour later, while i was busy doing other things, the rice was done! i opened the lid and was in shock how perfect. my persian grama would shed a tear if she saw how beautiful this rice looked without all the fuss. every morsel was perfectly cooked right through the middle to the bottom it was perfect. we ate and i put the rest of the rice in a container for later. clean up was a breeze with minimal effort.

going to try adding herbs and some canned beans next time. also excited to try making the cake and the pan pizza and stews in this little maker.

i will not go back to making rice on the stove again! so happy i purchased this. :)
