[Rewarded Review] Snazzy black number 4745
HappyDayz· Review provided by onehanesplace.com · August 19, 2024
Playtex 18-hour Ultimate Lift and Support black bra. Model 4745 wirefree. Stiff and stretchy combo all in one goodness. The fabric under the ‘girls’ is unvarying without an elastic give providing good soft support without hard wires. Elastic stretchy material then continues on the left and right underarm areas and onto the backside to a hook and loop closure. I received as a free product for an honest opinion and here are my observations.

Pros: nice black color and cute leopard like pattern design in fabric. Stitched lines on cup bottoms provide uplifting support which is nice to keep everything in place. Wide stretch panels on the sides to keep the flab in check from sides to back. Appears to be well sewn and constructed to last a long time making it a good investment for the bra drawer.

Cons: the elastic strap section parts are a little short as there is limited distance to change shoulder length. The cushioning shoulder strap part did not sit comfortable across the top of my shoulder and I could feel the stitch lines where the fabric is sewn to the elastic shoulder strap. These are just my observations on how this bra fit my body. I prefer a soft shoulder padding to fit up and over the shoulder top then a longer elastic piece to adjust. Over a break in period the fabric should become more soft and stretching just right.

Details to know: The material is nylon and spandex so it is a lightweight, breathable and stretchy. The bra should be hand washed in cold water and line dried to achieve maximum material life. The non-stretchy part under the cups measures about fourteen inches across the front. Shoulder strap length is seven inches non stretch fabric connected to an elastic piece about eight inches stretched out. Shoulder strap fully stretched from cup top to backside is about fifteen inches fully extended to backside. Black hook and loop closure is three inches wide with hooks spaced at three quarters of an inch on center. Three lines of loops provide varying adjustment lengths for comfort around bust. Overall, a nice supportive bra and would purchase and recommend. Give the bra some break in time to stretch and match the body for full comfort.
Comfort, utility.

If rated purely on comfort I would give a 5 star rating. I can actually wear this bra from morning until bedtime in absolute comfort. The problems I have are the same with all the different Platex bras I've had thus far: 1) the straps are too short making it difficult to put on, 2) the bigger the cup, the more gravity pulls down in front so: a) the cushioned straps are pulled forward and are not on top of the shoulder where needed, b) need to pull the back down throughout the day as gravity pulls the bra down in the front. The design department needs to have women in each cup size wear each design for a full day and critique so improvements can be made. A woman in a C cup is not going to have the same experience as someone with an A cup, and a D cup and larger will have different needs as the cup size increases. More design research is needed. Note: When received the cups were wrinkled due to the inner material of the cups. This was caused by packing/shipping. After washing these wrinkles disappeared. Again, very comfortable.
Uncomfortable!

I have made a purchase from here before. In fact, I think it was the same type of bra in different colors and a different size. I thought that the first set I got was just the wrong size is why they felt so uncomfortable. However, I went a size bigger and these seem even smaller and are much more uncomfortable. I wear them now because the ones I ordered from One Hanes Place before didn't really last that long. Now, I realize that it's really the quality of the material and poor manufacturing of the bras that make them horrible. I am quite certain that I will not order from this site again. At least I know I won't order this same type of bra again. They are truly uncomfortable, the material is rough and stiff, and the size doesn't seem to change. At the price I paid, it just isn't worth it.
Really bad fitting

I decided to replace all my bras for super comfy ones, I purchased a Bali and I love it. I was shopping the sale at Penneys when Playtex popped up, so I checked it out. The bras had good reviews were $10 cheaper than the Bali's I was looking at. I purchase three different types and was disappointed in them all. I wear a 38C, I have always worn that size. Upon reading the reviews, people kept mentioning that cups run big and the width runs small, so I ordered 40B's. What a joke, the cup was huge, no padding whatsoever and it was so tight around it hurt. This was the most ill fitting uncomfortable bra I have ever put on. I would not recommend to anyone.
