Great...but

This is a very capable flagship phone. Having just switched from a Sony Xperia V there are a few comparisons I'd like to make. The Sony has a high fidelity 2 way mini jack audio socket. It also has a dedicated camera shutter and activation button. Sony's auto focus is unbeatable. It also had up to 1TB of micro SD storage. None of these features are on the Samsung. The S23 does have a bigger screen but I don't need that. The Sony has a better form factor with its 20:9 4k 120hz OLED screen. Also all 3 cameras on the Xperia are 4k 120 and the selfie camera is 4k60 with images that don't look like they were taken on a phone. The selfie cam is in a tiny bezel that negates any cutout or notch so the screen is unblemished and the right size for a wide-screen cinema film without any bars. The Samsung has a great OLED screen too but it has a hole cutout. The images slightly beat the Sony only in computational photography but the Xperia wipes the floor with all other phones including iPhone when it comes to manual control. The aesthetic of the Samsung OS is cartoony and the icons are bloated. The Sony's round icon aesthetic is actually nicer than iOS. I'm a life long Apple evangelist and the Xperia has definitely stolen my heart. The Samsung has a good stylus but I've realised by using it the tiny size on a tiny screen doesn't really work. I'd rather have it than not have it but it certainly won't stop me moving to a different phone. I plan to switch to a foldable for a couple of weeks before returning to the Sony camp. A stulus makes more sense there. Oh and Sony gave me their top of the line noise cancelling headphones for free just for pre registering. I think Sony are about to make a major move in the Android space next year. Perhaps an Xperia Pro i 2? They have already stated their smartphones will eclipse dslr/system cameras in 2024 so it's either that or the Xperia 1 VI. The S23 Ultra is a superb phone and if Samsung's ecosystem is up your alley and you want the best zoom available on a smartphone but can live without everything I love about Sony phones then dive in. Not for me but I appreciate what Samsung have acheived with this. If they gave me feature parity with a Sony flagship and better UI options it might be different. The Samsung is very smooth and slippery and feels heavy. It would damage badly in a fall. The Sony survived 4 drops without a case, one onto gravel lenses down and didn't get a single mark on it. No iPhone or glossy Android flagship could do that. The Sony's vlogging screen and Bluetooth handle are awesome. I can't wait to get back to it once I've trialled and reviewed a few more phones. Thank you Samsung. Great job but you won't stand a chance next to an Xperia. Thank you O2 for such a brilliant contract that lets me switch phones whenever I want.
An incredible phone!

I previously owned a Samsung S10 and thought I'd treat myself to a brand new Google Pixal 8 considering it was so hyped. I was so let down by the camera and the thick bezels so I took a loss, sold it and considered the S23 Ultra instead.

What an absolute beauty! The camera on this thing is honestly mind blowing. The 4k video is gorgeous, zooms to 20x although it goes digital zoom at that point. Still impressive though. Taking pictures is stunning and crisp and zooming in to 100x in phenomenal! It's a great party trick and the photos are genuinely usable.

The screen is sharp, the build quality is premium, s-pen is handy but I personally won't use it too often. After tweaking the speaker settings, they sound loud, bassy and clear. There's a one handed/smaller screen mode to help in situations. Battery life is pretty decent considering I've been using it non stop and Samsung promises 3 more years of interface updates so this phone is 100% a keeper.

£750 for a Grade A/mint and it literally was brand new even with little stickers still surrounding the phone. Very.com is charging £1000 for the same product to Cex is a no brainer!

I liike this phone for several reasons. I am a 67yr old that has had a passion for photography in the past. This phones apps that came with it helped me to do a deep dive unto my old phone and computer and found photos I had not seen in a long time. It connects so easily with all my other devices I actually hooked it to everything including my dishwasher . The screen picture quality and the editing features in the cameras apps are also very good. I know some of you are probably used to functions similiar to this but for me this phone works almost on its own. It hooks up with my car so easily and allows for all the music to flow seamlessly between the two. It is well made, buttons are sturdy, cameras functions will blow you away. Sound quality is good, I listen to it when I walk the treadmill without buds or external speakers. Although it does hook easily to my Bose sound system, it's in a different part of my home. It's just a good phone, I haven't even really used the pen yet, just played with it, but I will when I have a need. The pen is securely kept in the bottom corner nice and tight but easily accessible. I really have not found anything I don't like about it. Yes I do recommend it to anyone looking for a good phone and camera.

Ordered it at midnight and collected it around noon. Price-wise, it is one of the 3 cheapest S23 Ultra sellers I found online at that time. Around $1228 - $10 Seller Voucher + $87 Lazada Cashback (8% Cashback Voucher). Unfortunately, I found out days later Lazada Cashback has a lot of T&C such as a max usage discount is $10/order at 30% of the product price with 30 days validity so not very practical. Could have ordered it in sh0pi as can use the $40 platform discount voucher or directly purchase it at Red White mobile website at $1180. Too much regret especially knowing 3 days later promo price dropped to $1208 in Lazada for the 256GB version. The phone is amazing. It is snappy and has 100x zoom with an S-pen but very hefty size. I also managed to register for the 1yr std local warranty and the 6-mnths free 100GB MS365 Basic while still eligible for the extended Samsung Care+ & YouTube Premium Samsung promotions.Seller did answer all my 6 inquiries compared to other online sellers but... [#4 Is it telco set? \"Ours is supplier set\"]. Bruh.. Fortunately, the Starhub apps can be uninstalled.Difference buying this Telco set vs in a Samsung store is ~$300 savings unless you want the Buds 2 freebies
