Night: Great. Mornings: Not Quite There
Kennedy O.· Review provided by hatch.co · April 6, 2024
The bedtime routines are great. Excellent sounds to choose from, no concerns there.
I dont like the morning options. I wish there was a way for us to connect to bluetooth and play our own music in the morning. Or have more sound options that dont include words. The instrumental songs arent really boppy enough to actually get you up and moving.
The app itself is a little frustrating to use. I dont like how if you have a routine in progress, and you make an update, it stops the routine you were in.
I wish you could favorite what sounds you like.
I wish you could set up certain routines for certain days, rather than either having the same routine every day/night or updating it in the app each time you want something different. Like, we have alarm options for different mornings/times of the week, can the same thing apply to routines?
The morning sounds: i wish you could select exactly which song you wanted from an "album" rather than having it be random when it comes on
All in all, i like my hatch enough to keep it around and hope that additional features will become available in future considering we have to pay $5 a month for premium sounds (that I dont even like, so I cancelled it lol)
Just ok

It feels like I have the first generation of a new technology as there are a few glitches with the app and performance. It seems like there are a lot of enhancements which could be easily made and that just aren't available. For example: I can schedule and customize multiple morning alarms, but I can't schedule various routines or night time alarms. Also, one of the reasons I purchased Hatch was because of the rave reviews of their customer service. I contacted them and they still haven't gotten back to me over a week later. I contacted customer service because my night time routines and night time alarm was not playing how I'd set it to and I didn't know how to fix it. I still haven't heard back. It's always a roll of the dice as to what the Hatch alarm will play for you. Lastly, their meditations and voice recordings are very good; however, some of them will discuss things that are irrelevant such as talking about Thanksgiving plans in January. I also noticed that some of the routines will be repeats and I was listening to the same meditation or breath work or whatever for a week straight which was boring. At the end of the day though, it is exceptionally better than waking up to my phone alarm and I feel better with it, too.
Game changer

Ok so I originally bought this for the sunrise feature as someone who is not a morning person it’s been really nice! I usually wake up before the alarm even goes off. I think the light could be a little brighter but it still does the job and is brighter than I thought it would be. The unexpected part of the hatch that I LOVE is the unwind routine. I do have to pay monthly membership fees for this feature but it’s so worth it. I deal with a little bit of insomnia and raving thoughts at night but I have a body scan, meditation, and bed time story that plays every night and it has changed my sleep habits completely my mind is quite by the end of it and then I fall asleep like a normal person. If you’re on the fence and wouldn’t pay for the membership and just want to sunrise feature you could probably buy a different cheaper alarm that can do the same thing. If you have trouble sleeping and are willing to pay the pretty inexpensive membership fee then absolutely get this!!! It’s also way easier to use than a manual alarm clock. As a super ADHD girly who has trouble with routine this is a game changer. Buy it lol
[Rewarded Review] Complete waste of money and overly complicated.

This alarm clock plays brown noise which is helpful, but there are zero wake-up sounds that actually wake me up. Everything is soothing and relaxing and lulls me back to sleep. The one energizing playlist they have is EDM music with a terrifying DJ voice that would startle me awake in a horrible way. It’s not that difficult to build a sound machine, and alarm clock that both puts people to sleep and adequately wakes them up. The entire machine also feels cheaply made for the price. For example. I have the clock face set to show up when tapped and i have to do so at least 5 times. It also feels like light-weight cheaply made plastic. Not to mention it’s $5 a month for more sound options…. What sound options? Still slim picking and for the price it should be possible to upload different sounds/music. Don’t love that it also needs wifi to function properly.

Extremely disappointed and will be looking for an alternative. There’s no reason this unit should be more than $40.
